Drake University and the School of Education have created a number of programs and institutional partnerships to provide opportunities for students to study abroad. From semester-long to short-term programs, there are a variety of options from which to choose.
University Partners and Student Exchange
Drake University has formal partnerships with universities all of the world (see more information on those institutions here) In some instances there are formal agreements specifically designed for particular schools within Drake University. Three universities with whom the Drake School of Education has worked are Nebrija University, Spain, University de los Andes (UANDES), Chile, and University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), South Africa.
Students who wish to study abroad for a semester at a partner institution pay Drake tuition and get to use 100% of their Drake aid and scholarship awards. This policy also applies to short-term programs, like those below.
Short Term Programs
There are many opportunities to study abroad for students who cannot devote an entire semester to do so. These short term programs last from one two six weeks in duration and are offered throughout the year, though most typically in January and during the summer months. For Drake sponsored, faculty led J-Terms and May-Terms, see the Drake International programs site for more information.

If you would like to be kept up to date about these or other opportunities, please follow this link—or copy and paste the following URL into your browser http://goo.gl/forms/63AoU7Mcqt —and complete a short form so we can be sure to keep you included in future communications regarding the program. Future emails about meetings and information will go to the people who complete the form.
Once you have investigated your options and would like to start planning for a study abroad experience, you may set up a time to meet with Dr. Hayden, the SOE International programs coordinator, to learn more.
